Dear Friends,
It's been a month since our historic victory on November 3rd. I want
to thank everyone who helped make our victory a success.
After spending nine months knocking on doors and talking to the
voters of the 52nd district, I have become aware of the many
challenges and the needs our district faces.
During the campaign it was very clear to me that our citizens'
traffic problems are woefully underfunded and the pain of our
current economic crises were being felt in a profound way. As I've
been preparing for the General Assembly session, I have not
forgotten what I learned while listening to voters.
In the wake of the election, I have met with both Republican and
Democratic elected officials. While I was disappointed that some
friends of mine were unable to return to Richmond, I remain
committed to working with members from both sides of the aisle. In
the coming weeks I will continue to meet with a broad spectrum of
community leaders because the challenges the Commonwealth of
Virginia faces demand bi-partisan leadership and common sense
solutions.
After a long primary and general election campaign which involved so
many people, it was clear our community is stronger as a whole than
the sum of its parts. I not only want to extend my sincerest thank
you to everyone who knocked on doors, made phone calls, and voted
but I also want to urge you to please stay involved.
As your Delegate-elect, I am eager to meet with my future
constituents to listen and learn how best we can strengthen and move
our community forward. Please feel free to call my Legislative
Assistant Phil Newell at 703-785-224 and if you have any questions
he will be more than happy to assist you.
I look forward to hearing from you soon, and I wish you a safe and
happy holiday season.
All the best,
Luke E. Torian
Delegate-Elect, 52nd District
