Luke Torian:  “A Commitment to Change”

Service & Community Leadership
Mark Warner recognized Luke Torian's leadership qualities, appointing him to the Virginia Board of Counseling.  Former Governor and now U.S. Senator Warner had noticed Luke Torian's years and years of service to Prince William County and the surrounding community.
Luke was one of only 50 leaders who participated in John Maxwell's special leadership institute.  He has served on the Board of Directors for ACTS and the Cardinal Bank Advisory Board.  He also serves as a mentor for troubled teens at Forest Park and Hylton High Schools.

Faith & Compassion
Luke Torian serves as the Pastor of First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dumfries, Virginia.
He serves as Co-President of the Eastern Prince William County Ministerial Association.  He facilitated “The Color of Fear,” a dialogue of more than 1,200 residents on race relations.  He also sponsored a community AIDS/HIV Awareness Conference.
Luke is also one of the founders of Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement (VOICE), an organization that represents 120,000 people from 40 congregations from Prince William, Arlington & Fairfax Counties, and the City of Alexandria.  VOICE works to gain access to affordable housing, strengthen education for people who want to learn English, and to provide affordable dental care.

Family
Luke lives in Woodbridge, Virginia, with his wife, Clarice, and their daughter, Constance, a university student.  In his spare time, Luke enjoys golf, jogging, and reading.
