Luke Torian Speaks at Honors Student Program at Godwin Middle School

Recently in the news we have witnessed what the fruits of education can produce when partnered with ambition, dedication, and perseverance. Judge Sonia Sotomayor has come quite a long way from her modest upbringing in the Bronx projects to potentially become the first Latina to serve on the US Supreme Court. Sotomayor's thirst for higher education lead her to receive two Ivy League degrees that allowed her to accomplish a variety of goals many children dream of.

Sadly, these dreams are weakening each year as schools’ resources are depleted by insufficient state funds. The lack of funding and educational resources threaten the quality of education our youth deserve.

As a guest speaker for an honors student program at Godwin Middle School, Luke recognized the outstanding academic achievements of the young honorees and encouraged them to continue on their path to academic success. Luke discussed the world in which we live today and what the world could be should each child remain dedicated to achieving an education.

Luke Torian believes children can enrich the world with hard work and a quality education. The future of our country rests with our youth. We must invest in them and have a direct involvement in their education. Luke is dedicated to fight for Prince William County schools in Richmond. He will ensure we receive our fair share of state funds that will supply schools with the resources and salaries necessary to keep education systems thriving.
